Young Adult Book Review: The Charlatan’s Boy | The Pioneer Woman

Unless of course they could make the villagers believe again. Floyd swore the villagers would pour in to listen to his lectures and stories, making them both filthy rich. While scurrying around with the feechie scare Grady tries to see past his life of lies and into who he really is.
If you can read, you need this book. I picked it up because of the cover.
Yes, I judged the book by its cover. A feechie is more like a hobbit. Without Floyd the fraud or Grady the fake he-feechie, this story line would be rather blunt. Throw in a showman and a young boy who disguises himself as a feechie with a unibrow and a massive nose… a winner! Even Short Fronie, a character briefly touched on. Floyd reminded me of an oh, so familiar character from my long-time favorite book so I particularly liked that little fraud.

My girls really enjoy Lloyd Alexander, N. Wilson, and Beverly Lewis her young adult series: Katherine Lasky and Alison Crogon are also among their favorites. Some of my favorites are still the classics, though: They are written in cartoon form. We also just bought my 12 years old son The Action Bible also with cartoon type stories from the bible. My visual son loves it!! We also just bought all the kids Jesus Calling for Kids. I love this one!!
